Our 12 Days Rwanda Uganda Budget Safari has been carefully designed to take you on a classic adventure as you explore the ‘land of a thousand hills’ and the beautiful ‘Pearl of Africa.’ During this 12 Days Rwanda Uganda budget safari which begins in Kigali city in Rwanda and ends in Entebbe in Uganda, you will be visiting Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey trekking and Mount Bisoke hiking. You will then cross over to Uganda where you will be doing gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park, game drive and launch cruise in Murchison Falls National Park, rhino trekking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and white water rafting in Jinja.

Detailed Itinerary for 12 Days Rwanda Uganda Budget Safari.
Day 1: Kigali City tour and Transfer to Volcanoes national park
On arrival, you will be met by our company representative who will pick you up from your hotel, you will do a city tour and visit places like the Museum, Genocide memorials, and handicraft markets for souvenir shopping if time allows.
Later proceed to and transfer to Ruhengeri – the nearest place to Volcanoes National Park found in the northern province of Rwanda. The journey is a 3 hours drive from Kigali. You will check in at your hotel and then do an optional community tour around Ruhengeri for a Rwanda cultural experience or unwind and spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking
Have an early breakfast served by your lodge. You will drive to the park headquarters in Kinigi. You will be briefed and head out into the forest in search of a golden monkey family. Once you have located a group, you will be given an hour to spend with these playful primates. Head back to back and connect to your lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the evening relaxing at your lodge.
Day 3: Bisoke Hike and cultural tour
You will enjoy breakfast and set out for the Mount Bisoke hike which is part of Volcanoes National Park; home to Rwanda gorillas. On reaching the summit, you will discover a beautiful crater lake and the whole experience is overwhelming! Along the trail, you will discover a lot of bird life and captivating scenery – the reason Rwanda is referred to as the “land of a thousand hills
After spending the hike, you will go and have lunch then connect to enjoy the Ibyi’wacu cultural tour. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda
Breakfast will be served early and drive to Kisoro through the Cyanika border to your lodge in Bwindi impenetrable national park. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge in Bwindi Forest.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi
You will enjoy an early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for a briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00 am. After the briefing, you will start your gorilla trekking journey accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas; this takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After your 1-hour encounter with the gorillas, you will return to your lodge for lunch.
If you are feeling energetic, you may go for an optional community walk around the community. Before nightfall, return to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
You will set off early morning from Bwindi and embark on your transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. This is about a 7-8-hour drive where you will check into your lodge or hotel in Kibale to rest from the long journey. Dinner and overnight at a hotel.
Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
Have your breakfast early in the morning and drive to the park’s headquarters. You will be briefed regarding the do’s and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park. You will head out into Kibale forest in search of a chimpanzee family where you will spend an hour with the chimpanzees once you have located them. You will then head back to your lodge for lunch and relax for the rest of the evening or you can do an optional activity like visit Bigodi swamp for an afternoon birding session.
Day 8: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park-Visit Top of the Falls
Wake up early morning to continue to Murchison Falls and upon arrival, visit the Top of the falls where water thunders through different rapids from a 7-metre gap to fall over 40 meters Gorge below and proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Game drive and launch cruise along the Albert Nile
After an early breakfast, you will go for a game drive on the Northern Bank of the River Nile. The activity takes about 3 to 5 hours and Wildlife in the Park includes elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis, and waterbucks.
After the drive you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon; go for a launch cruise on the Albert Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfishers, cormorants, bee-eaters and the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and overnight at the lodge as above
Day 10: Rhino trekking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Drive to Jinja
After breakfast, you will meet your driver to take you to continue on your transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with an en route visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking which lasts 2 to 3 hours, and proceed to lunch en route. Proceed to Jinja for dinner and an overnight stay at your resort/lodge.
Day 11: Half-Day White Water Rafting and Transfer to Entebbe
Enjoy breakfast and transfer to the Nalubale rafting camp where the crew will welcome you and transfer you to the starting point. Spend the day rafting on the Nile with a very experienced team. Lunch will be served there and spice up the adventure with a cold bottle of Nile special beer (free) as you get out of the river!
You will then set off for your journey to Entebbe. Dinner and overnight at your resort/lodge.
Day 12: Departure
You will enjoy breakfast, leave the hotel, and transfer to Entebbe airport in time for your flight back home.
