This exciting 4 Days Lake Mburo Safari and Lake Bunyonyi begins and ends in Kampala or Entebbe. The excursion will take you to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah national park. During the wildlife drive and boat trip at Lake Mburo National Park, you will be able to view buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, zebras, Uganda kobs, impalas, oribi, topi, warthogs, and a variety of birds.

Detailed Itinerary for 4 Days Lake Mburo Safari and Lake Bunyonyi
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala or Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park- afternoon boat cruise
Depending on where you are on the first day of your safari, you will be welcomed by our driving guide, who will brief you on the safari before commencing the walk to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, you will view stunning scenery and terraced farmlands. When you arrive in Lake Mburo National Park, you will check into the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on an exciting boat cruise where you will see hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, and other animals drinking water along the shore, as well as various aquatic bird species such as the elusive shoebill, cormorants, hornbills, and kingfishers. Following the boat journey, you will return to the lodge for supper and accommodation.

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, you will meet your driver guide for a morning game drive in the park. Waterbucks, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, oribi, and topi are some of the wildlife animals that you will get to witness grazing in open savannah plains on the second day of your four-day Lake Mburo and Lake Bunyonyi safari. You will depart the park and go to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale, following the wildlife drive. You will check into the lodge for supper and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Boat cruise and community/ cultural tour
On the third day of your four-day Lake Mburo safari and Lake Bunyonyi tour in Uganda, after breakfast, you will go on a thrilling boat trip on the lake. During the boat trip, you will be able to visit other islands, including the punishment island, and observe a variety of birds, beautiful landscapes, and terraced farmlands, among other sights. After the boat excursion, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on a community or cultural tour, during which you will be able to interact with locals, learn about their culture, traditions, and way of life, visit their farmlands and homesteads, learn how to make banana beer, and enjoy their traditional dishes and entertainment, among other activities. After the village excursion, you will return to the lodge for dinner and then rest for the night.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala
On the final day of the four-day Lake Mburo safari and Lake Bunyonyi tour in Uganda, you will have a leisurely breakfast before checking out of the lodge and meeting your driver guide for the ride back to Kampala. On the route, you’ll stop for lunch in Mbarara before heading to the Equator to take photos and buy souvenirs. From the Equator, you will journey to Kampala, arriving early evening, where your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your trip out.
