 Tchegera Island: This camp is one of the greatest escape places to be in Virunga National park. After hiking the Nyiragongo or doing gorilla tracking, you would want a place to give you the serenity in the wild experience. It’s an island off the shores of Lake Kivu and it has the best views of this lake since you see it from the center. Here you can see four of the eight Virunga volcanoes..On clear nights, Nyiragongo and Nyamulagira volcanoes add to the drama by turning the night sky red with their glowing lava.

The Tchegera Island and camp is the greatest place for relaxation and meditation. The accommodation is fantastic and its comes with full board amenities.

This place offers magnificent views of the lake and the four volcanoes out of the eight that belong to the Virunga ranges. There are lots of activities you can do here like swimming in Lake Kivu and a lot of other water supported activities like finishing.

The camp begun in 2015 and since then it has been on the rise. It has well organized luxury tents that a way beyond the camping standard.
