Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe/Kampala and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
On the first day of the 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, your driver guide from our company will meet you either in Kampala or Entebbe. they’ll provide a briefing about the safari before heading you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. the drive usually takes about approximately 8-9 hours from Kampala to the park. You will have magnificent views along the way, you’ll make a first stopover at Uganda’s equator in Kayabwe for photos and a quick break. After you will embark on your journey to the park with a second stop over for lunch in Mbarara town for a lunch break at a local restaurant. As you continue your journey in the afternoon, enjoy the beautiful views along the way, making your way through the charming towns of Kabale or Kisoro, depending on where your lodge is situated. Up on your arrival in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will check into your lodge at Buhoma Lodge for dinner, and relaxation for the next day’s gorilla trekking.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After an early relaxed breakfast on the second day of the 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge for a gorilla trekking safari. Gorilla trekking safaris in the park start early morning at the park’s headquarters at Buhoma with a brief briefing regarding the rules and regulations to follow while in the forest. Thereafter you will be allocated an armed park ranger who will lead to the forest interaction with these incredible mountain gorillas. The trek can last from a few hours to most of the day depending on the location of the gorilla family. During your gorilla trek, enjoy the lush forest and wildlife. Once the gorillas are located, spend up to one hour observing them after you will receive your Gorilla Trekking certificate as a souvenir for a successful gorilla trek. After this adventurous safari in the afternoon, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch for lunch.
After a relaxed lunch, you will go for an exciting community walk to visit the local Batwa community. This group of people have lived in the forest before it became a national park. The Batwa guides will show you how they used to live in the forest, using it for shelter, medicine, and food. Return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.
Day 3: Departure to Kampala / Entebbe.
After a leisurely breakfast on the last day of the 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to embark on the journey back to Kampala. You will have your stopover at Stop in Mbarara or another convenient town for lunch. After you will continue the drive back while enjoying the scenic views and making short stops as needed. After arriving in Kampala, your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or the airport for your departure flight.
