3 Days Mount Nyiragongo Hiking Safari is a short Congo Safari Package that gives you an opportunity to go hiking on the world’s most active Volcano. You will hike to the top and be able to see the boiling lava of the mountains lava crater lake.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali & Transfer to Goma

Transfer to Goma: On Day 1, you will be picked up from your location in Rwanda’s Capital city of Kigali and our driver-guide will give you a brief city tour of Kigali. You visit places like the Kimironko market and the genocide memorial. Later proceed to Goma in Congo the border where you will check-in at the grande Barriere border where you will get the permits for hiking mount Nyiragongo. After picking permits you will transfer to your hotel where you will relax for the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Ihusi

Day 2: Nyiragongo Hiking

Nyiragongo Hiking: On day 2 of this 3 Days Mount Nyiragongo Hiking Safari, you will wake up early have breakfast and transfer to Kibati Ranger post which acts as the starting point for the hike. You will be able to book a few porters at this point from which you will begin your journey to hike to the Nyiragongo summit. On reaching the top, you will get a chance to have a great view of the amazing Active Lava Crater that is constantly boiling. You will get a chance to take photos and later you will have a rest at the Nyiragongo Summit Shelters.

Day 3: Descend Nyiragongo & transfer to Kigali

Descend Nyiragongo: Wake up on day 3 Of the safari at the summit, have a little snack and start to descend back to the Kibati Ranger Post where you will meet the driver-guide that will transfer you back to Kigali in Rwanda. On reaching Kigali City, you will get a chance to do another City tour at the craft centers, markets, business center, and many other fascinating surrounding areas. After the tour, you will be dropped off either in Kigali or at the Kigali International Airpor for your next flight.
