Detailed itinerary
DAY1: Transfer to kibale national Park-Tour fort portal.
On the first day of your wildlife safari, the driver will pick you from your hotel in Kampala earl in the morning after the breakfast. The driver will brief you first about the trip, then you start your journey to kibale national park for chimpanzee trekking and birdwatching in bigodi swamp. You will have a stopover in fort portal town were you will have your lunch from and you will be able to see or view the beautiful sceneries of the fort portal town like the palace for omukama, the lakes, mountain Rwenzori rangers and the beautiful town of fort portal since it’s the tourism centre.
After lunch you will continue to kibale national park in the late evening, the driver will drop you at the accommodations like kyaninga lodge(luxury), primate lodge(mid-range), chimpanzee Guest house(budget)were you will have dinner and overnight.
DAY 2: Chimpanzee trekking / nature walk in bigodi swamp.
On the 2nd day on your wildlife safari, the driver will pick you on your accommodation and drive you to the headquarters of kibale national park for briefing about the chimpanzee trekking, rules and regulations about them, there behaviours and ways of feeding, the gorilla trekking it takes about 30-40 minutes when they a seen you are allowed to spend an hour with them. After the chimpanzee the driver brings you back to the accommodation for lunch and relaxation, after lunch in the evening you are a provided with the tour guide who will take you through the nature walk and birdwatching in bigodi swamp where you will be to spot the birds like shoebill, African eagles, after nature you will return to the accommodation sites for dinner and overnight.
DAY3: Transfer to queen Elizabeth national park.
On your 3rd day on your wildlife safari, the guide will come to pick you from your accommodation after your early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth national park in south-western Uganda which only takes about 2hours from kibale national park to ishasha sector to spot the lion climbing. And after the game drive in ishasha spotting the lions climbing the lions, the guide will drive you to the lodge for relaxation and lunch as you wait for the second activity.
After lunch, the guide and the game ranger, will take you through the second activity in queen Elizabeth national in Kyambura gorge which contains animals like chimpanzee, baboons, monkeys, hippos and some birds. After visiting the kyambura gorge, the guide will take you back to the lodge foe dinner and overnight, mweya safari lodge, ihamba and simba safari lodge.
DAY 4: Second game drive and boat cruise in kazinga channel.
On your 4th day of your safari, you will have the morning breakfast at the site, the you will be provided with the game ranger during game drive where will spot some animals like buffaloes, elephants, leopards, Uganda kobs, hynes, hartebeest and some birds. The morning game drive in queen Elizabeth, you will be able to spot the many animals since it’s the time when they always gather after night hunting. After the game drive you will be taken back to the accommodations for lunch and relaxation as you wait for second activity. After lunch, the driver will take you for evening boat cruise at kazinga channel where you will spot many hippos and crocodiles and some birds can also be seen during the boat cruise, after the activities you will drive back to the accommodation for supper and overnight.
DAY5: Transfer to salt mining in lake katwe-maramagambo forest.
On the 5th day on your wildlife safari, the driver will come and pick you from your accommodation after your morning breakfast, the driver will drive you to mining salt in Kasese to see how the local people mine the salt from their path holes. Then after visiting the salt, you will continue your journey to maramagambo forest for nature walk were you will spot animals like red tailed monkeys, chimpanzee and other primates. Later in the afternoon you will continue the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park for dinner and overnight, the accommodations include; chameleon hill lodge, bakinga lodge and Tarvan trekkers.
DAY6: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
On the 6th day on your safari, you will take your breakfast in the morning as you wait for the driver to come and take you through the headquarters for briefing on how to behave with the gorillas while you’re with them. After the briefing you will be provided with the game ranger who will take you through gorilla Trekking since some of them stay in the deep forest, when the gorillas are spotted, you are allowed to take photos as many as you and after trekking the driver will come and take you back at the accommodation for lunch and relaxation. After your lunch, you have the nature walk visiting the batwa caves around the forest while visiting them expect the traditional dances from tribesmen. After nature in batwa forest you will drive back to the accommodation for dinner and overnight.
DAY7: Departure back Kampala.
On the last day of the wildlife safari, the driver will come and pick you from your accommodation for check out, you will take another route to mbarara where you will be able to pass by the Igongo culture and if time allows you can pass by the Buganda drum craft and see how they are made, and continue on your hotel of residence.
