This 14 Days Uganda and Kenya Safari takes you on an adventure to some of the most scenic wildlife destinations in both countries. During this safari, you will be visiting a number of national parks including Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda and Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park and Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. This tour starts from Entebbe/Kampala in Uganda and ends in Nairobi, Kenya.

Detailed Itinerary for 14 Days Uganda and Kenya Safari.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Your expert Uganda safari guide shall pick you from the airport or hotel of sty, welcome you to Uganda and brief you about the safari. Thereafter, depart Kampala or Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking and then proceed with en-route lunch in Masindi town. After lunch you will proceed to Murchison falls national park and upon arrival you will drive directly to the top of the falls where you will enjoy great views of the waterfall and later connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise   

After breakfast, connect for a morning game drive where you will be able to view different animals like elephants, buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, waterbucks, oribi, giraffes, warthogs, view predators like lions and leopards if you are lucky among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will connect for an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfishers, cormorants, and bee-eater. Return to the lodge with an en-route evening game drive to find some animals. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park, Tea Plantation Tour

Early morning after breakfast, depart the lodge Proceed for your long journey to Kibale Forest National Park. This Park is home to almost 13 primate species. These include red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkey and many more.  You will have lunch in Kagadi. Proceed with the journey to the Kibale forest. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast, you will set out for chimp tracking within the Kibale Forest. During your search, expect to see a lot of primate species like chimpanzees, monkeys, and other animals like the forest elephants, bush pig and duiker, warthogs, reptiles, and amphibians as well as a colorful variety of butterflies. Return to the Lodge for lunch.

After lunch, go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp area and look out for most of the water-loving bird species. The forest /Park has almost 335 species of birds and therefore a good place for birders. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will set out for the game drive in the Ishasha area and chance to see the rare tree-climbing lions. The lions can be seen upon the fig trees. However, it’s not a guarantee that the lions will be seen. Sometimes it depends on the luck and time of reaching the area. You will have lunch in the Ishasha sector and after you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in preparation for your next day Gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 6: Gorilla trek in Bwindi forest Park

On day 6 of the 14 Days Uganda and Kenya Safari, early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the UWA officials, set off for the gorilla tracking. This is a once lifetime experience and unforgettable adventure. The ranger guides will lead you into the thick forest and start your search for the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about1hour.

The activity can take 2 -7 hours since the gorillas move up and down. This is an awesome and exciting moment where you will be able to see other types of the primates such as monkeys, birds, and more. Return for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Afternoon Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

After an early breakfast, proceed on a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, driving through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park chancing to spot the tree climbing lions therein. Once in the park, enjoy a Kazinga channel boat safari looking out for the animals at the shores enjoying a drink or dip.

Check in at the lodge, relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Entebbe, Flight to Nairobi (Own Booking)

Drive Time: Approx. 6 hours. 

After breakfast at the lodge, check out and proceed to transfer to Entebbe with a lunch stop over and Equator line visit en-route. You will proceed for a transfer to the airport arriving in time for your flight to Nairobi Kenya. Upon your arrival, you shall be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Pick up and Transfer to Amboseli National Park, Game Drive

Your Kenya safari guide shall pick you from the airport or hotel of stay in Nairobi and drive to Amboseli National Park with your packed lunch boxes which you will enjoy over a picnic in the park. Enjoy a game drive in Amboseli National Park as you search for the different game here, including large herds of white-tusked elephants, giraffes, and so much more. Look out for wild game as you drive to your lodge. Dinner and overnight.

About Amboseli National Park

This scenic Kenya national park is known as one of the best places to get up-close to big herds of elephants, making for amazing photos with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Amboseli National Park hosts a variety of big mammals and an array of birds.

Day 10: Game Drive in Amboseli National Park, Guided Walking Safari.

Spend a whole day in Amboseli National Park, with a morning and afternoon game drives. This park is termed as an Animal’s paradise. Enjoy a late afternoon guided walking safari in the park, and get to come up-close with nature and wildlife. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay as above. 

Day 11: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, Game Drive

You will have breakfast at your lodge, check out of the lodge as you continue your journey to Lake Nakuru national park across the rift valley escarpment as you enjoy the beautiful scenery around you. You will have an en route game drive during which you will see wildlife species such as giraffes, rhinos, gazelles, buffalos, antelopes, reedbucks, elands, impalas among others.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, and you will have another game drive in Lake Nakuru national park and you will visit the flamingo filled Lake Nakuru which is a good birding spot to see flocks of flamingos along the lake shores as well as other bird species and wildlife species grazing in the nearby plains. You will be driven back to your lodge after your evening game drive to have your dinner and overnight.

Day 12 Transfer to Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Game Drive

After breakfast, drive along the Great Rift Valley, passing by the Great Rift Valley escarpment. You shall enjoy lunch en-route, and proceed to the reserve. Enjoy wild game viewing on an afternoon game drive in Masai Mara, punctuated with a picnic lunch in the wilderness. Chase the sunset as you transfer to your lodge of stay. Check in at the camp, relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 13: Optional Hot Air Balloon, Game Drives in Masai Mara

Wake up to a morning hot air balloon safari experience giving you a bird’s eye view of the park and an amazing sunrise experience! Climax your experience with a bush breakfast experience.

Meet your guide and embark on an extensive gave drive to see various wild game including big 5 animals. Look out for various birds in Masai Mara, as well as the beautiful landscape of the park. Enjoy your lunch in the wilderness, and then head out for yet another game drive in the Masai Mara. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Day 14: Maasai Cultural Experience, and departure

Drive Time: Approx. 6 hours

After breakfast and checking out of the lodge in Masai Mara national reserve, you will enjoy game viewing as you leave the park. Enjoy a Masai cultural experience for a chance to learn and interact with the locals. After, you will be driven to Nairobi to the airport for your flight, or hotel of stay in Nairobi, which will bring the safari to an end.
