Detailed Itinerary for 3 Days Lake Mburo Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park
Depending on your location on the first day of the three-day Lake Mburo wildlife safari in Uganda, you will be greeted by our driving guide, who will educate you on the safari before beginning the journey to Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda. The park is a 4 to 5-hour road trip away, and along the route, you will see amazing views of drums at Mpambire, make a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe to snap photographs and buy souvenirs, and then continue on to the park. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on an afternoon game drive to see various animals, watch the sunset, and enjoy the lovely surroundings, among other things. After the wildlife drive, you will go to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Guided Walking Safari and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Get up early for a guided walking safari, an intimate opportunity to explore the wilderness and see species including impalas, buffalo, and birds up close with your ranger. Return for a leisurely breakfast and time to unwind at the lodge, possibly by the pool with panoramic views.
In the afternoon, take a boat trip on Lake Mburo, where hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of wildlife wait along the papyrus-lined lake shore. During the two-hour boat ride, you will see hippos and crocodiles in the lake, buffaloes, warthogs, and antelopes along the shoreline, as well as water birds such as cormorants, hornbills, bee-eaters, and kingfishers, and fishermen fishing. After the wonderful boat tour, you will return to the resort for dinner and an overnight stay, as described above.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Return Back to Kampala/Entebbe
Begin your day with a full breakfast at the lodge before embarking on an exciting 3-hour game drive through Lake Mburo National Park, where you’ll see zebras, giraffes, elands, impalas, buffaloes, hyenas, and a variety of bird species in varied settings. After the wildlife excursion, return to the resort for a great lunch and some quiet time before heading back to Kampala or Entebbe.
On the way back, make a cultural stop at the equator monuments in Kayabwe to see traditional Ugandan handicrafts before continuing on to your final destination, full of memories from the beautiful experience and encounters you made during your 3 Days Lake Mburo Wildlife Safari.
