Detailed Itinerary for 4 days Akagera Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park and Ihema Boat Cruise.
You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali to transfer to Akagera national park where you will arrive in time to embark on the late afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps. Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.
Day 2&3: Full Day Game Drives
Rise up early in the morning have breakfast and go for a morning game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill especially the big cats like the leopard, lions and many other carnivores.
You will get to watch a number of herbivores like the rhinos grazing within the plains, elephants, gazelle, oribi and many other rewarding game animals. After the morning game drives, you will head back to your hotel for refreshments and, later in the afternoon transfer to take part in the evening game drive.
Get ready to watch how the park comes to life as the sunsets with a number of predators coming from their hiding spots to catch prey, the herbivores catching their last bite for the day, the crocodiles can be seen sun-basking, elephants quenching their thirst from the river banks which will make your safari quite memorable.
On Day 3, you will also get to embark on a night game drive in the park. Get a chance to view nocturnal animals in the park as well as some predators like lions, and the elusive leopard. After an amazing safari experience, you will make your way back to your camp for dinner and overnight stay your lodge/camp.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kigali
Wake up to a good breakfast in the misty volcanoes forest and embark on a morning game drive as you exit the park via the northern gate. Enjoy view a variety of wildlife animals and look out for any wildlife that you might have might sighting during your previous game drives. You will then reconnect with your driver guide and drive back to Kigali with drop off at your hotel or at the airport for your onward flight.
