5 Days Nyiragongo Double Hike (2 Nights at Summit)

Your 5 Days Nyiragongo Double Hike (2 Nights at Summit)  will begin in Kigali Though Gisenyi and into Congo then Back to Kigali. Mountain Nyiragongo is one of the greatest wonders in Africa and the world at large. It’s an active volcano and has erupted about 34 times in the last 100 years with the recent one being 2002.

Day 1: Arrival, Kigali city tour, Gisenyi and Goma

After your breakfast or on arrival you will go for a city Tour around Kigali where you will have a chance to see the Genocide memorials and other cultural museums. You will later go to Lake Kivu where you will do a boat cruise and then have lunch before you proceed to Goma.  Overnight at Mikeno lodge / Bukima tented camp. FB

Day 2: Nyiragongo hike

After breakfast, you will meet up with the park ranger who will brief you about the hike and you will then start. The Hike starts at around 10.00am and it will take you an average of about 6 hours to reach the summit. You will meet a lot of tree species and other wild life. If you are a bird watcher brace yourself because you will enjoy this. Dinner and overnight at the tented camp. FB

Day 3: Second night at the summit

Day 4: Descending

We shall descend to the bottom of the mountain and rest in preparation departure the next day. Overnight at Mikeno lodge / Bukima Tented Camp. FB

Day 5: Descending and Departure

You will descend from the summit after breakfast such that you are in time for your journey back to Kigali and later on your flight back home.
