Detailed Itinerary for 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek and Lake Kivu Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Following your arrival, you will be welcomed by our company representative/driver guide and transfer to your hotel in Volcanoes National Park arriving at Ruhengeri for dinner and an overnight stay at your booked hotel/lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Volcanoes National Park Rwanda.
Wake up to an early morning breakfast and report to the park headquarters for briefing and allocation of Gorilla trekking groups. Later, you will head into the cold and misty forested slopes of Virunga National Park for your Gorilla trek.
The trek can be anywhere between 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas and upon finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to see and take photos after which you exit the forest.
Meet your driver/guide and transfer back to the lodge. Later in the afternoon for a cultural tour at Ibyi’wacu Cultural tour. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Lake Kivu (Gisenyi)
Breakfast will be served early and drive back to the park headquarters for briefing and Golden Monkey trekking. The procedure is the same as Gorilla trekking but lasts only 3 to 5 hours and return to the lodge for lunch and to freshen up and later transfer to Lake Kivu for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Coffee Tour at Kinunu Washing Station and Sunset Boat Cruise on Lake Kivu
After having your breakfast on the fourth day of your 5 days Rwanda gorilla trek and Lake Kivu Safari, you will meet up with your driver guide and head out for a coffee tour at Kinunu Washing Station. Take a dive into Rwanda’s unique coffee growing and processing journey; with an opportunity for you to taste her world delicious coffee. You will later have lunch and then have a sunset boat cruise on Lake Kivu with a chance to see and interact with the famous ‘singing fishermen’ of the lake.
Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 5: Drive Back to Kigali and Departure.
After having your breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and drive back to Kigali city where your driver guide will drop you off at any location of your convenience as your will advise on the day of your booking.
