Detailed Itinerary for 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla trekking and Chimpanzee Trekking Tour
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Ruhengeri
You will be met by our guide who will pick you up from your hotel- Kigali Marriot transfer to Kigali city for a short city tour where you will visit the genocide memorial site. Later in the afternoon, you will transfer to Ruhengeri town for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the RDB officials, set off for the gorilla trekking. This experience of gorilla trekking is a once in a lifetime adventure. The rangers will lead you deep into the forest in search of the Gorillas.
You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures whose company you will cherish for 1 hour. The activity in Rwanda can take 3-5 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. In the afternoon you may go for an optional village tour for a cultural experience with a resident local guide. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe.
Breakfast will be served early and embark on the drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park with lunch en route. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel in Nyungwe.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Canopy Walk
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are the easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 3 hours. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch.
After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk at Uwinka; a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before night fall, you will return to the hotel for dinner as above
Day 5: Primate Tracking and Transfer to Kigali
Wake up to a good breakfast in the misty Nyungwe forest and drive to the park headquarters for your briefing. Today you will be tracking black and white colobus monkeys in Nyungwe forest. This activity takes approximately 2-4 hours or more depending on their location.
Once you have located them, you will be given an hour to spend in their midst then head back to base. Have lunch and then embark on the drive to Kigali past impressive tea plantations and arrive in Kigali in the afternoon. Drop off at your hotel or at the airport for your onward flight.
