3. DIAN FOSSEY’S GRAVE

Dian Fossey was an American primatologist who dedicated her adult life researching and devising ways to protect the endangered mountain gorillas in the park that were being poached. She is the reason why gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park is carried out because it ensured that mountain gorillas in the park are conserved with the regular patrols that are carried out in the park, she went an extra mile of burning the houses of the poachers which regulated and made poaching less of a threat than it was in the park.

With all her efforts in the park, it infuriated a number of people in the community which and it is believed they were responsible for her death. She was found murdered in her cabin and because if her effective role in conserving the gorilla she was buried at the gorilla cemetery where she buried her gorilla friends. 4. GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING 

Golden monkey trekking is another rewarding activity in Volcanoes National Park where tourists will get to see the endangered golden monkey species that can be seen during the virunga mountains hike.
